Adviser: Trump mulls Kudlow for top WH economist

Source: Detroit News

Chad Livengood , Detroit News Lansing Bureau 5:06 p.m. EST December 15, 2016

Lansing — President-elect Donald Trump is considering appointing CNBC business commentator Larry Kudlow to chair the White House Council of Economic Advisers, a Trump adviser said Thursday.

Conservative economist Stephen Moore, who worked with Kudlow to write Trump’s tax plans, said during a lunchtime speech Thursday to the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s economic club that Kudlow would be appointed to the influential post “within the next 48 hours.”

“And who better than Larry? He’s one of the great economists in this country,” said Moore, who has been advising Trump on tax policy in the transition.

Less than an hour after The Detroit News first reported Moore’s comments, the chief economist at the Heritage Foundation think tank backtracked and said he “misspoke.” “It isn’t a done deal and I jumped the gun,” Moore said in an email to The News.

The first is the day-to-day life I'm living, the second is the explosive revelations about Russian hacking at every level of government, and the third is Trump proceeding along cramming more clowns into the car.

Isn't this the guy along with Jim Cramer that cheer-lead the policies that caused the crash of 2007? During the 8 years of Bush 2, didn't we get enough of what a former drug addict and alcoholic can do?

. . . that Kudlow is great. Neither of them know anything about anything and have been wrong about every prediction they've ever made.

Mostly because they're not really economists, they don't build models with stats, and they just spout out opinion based upon their pre-established biases.

Neither of them are capable of even analyzing the data that clearly shows that their economic philosophies have been tried and they have failed.

12. Kansas has been using their model for the past few years and look how well it is working there.

Kansas is a prime example of their policies. Tax cuts on the rich and results have been dismal. Now they have to borrow $60 million and will be borrowing for the next years to come.

A fortune teller if there ever was one . . .

Kudlow firmly denied that the United States would enter a recession in 2007, or that it was in the midst of a recession in early to mid-2008. In December 2007, he wrote: "The recession debate is over. It's not gonna happen. Time to move on. At a bare minimum, we are looking at Goldilocks 2.0. (And that's a minimum). The Bush boom is alive and well. It's finishing up its sixth splendid year with many more years to come".[19] In May 2008 he wrote: "President George W. Bush may turn out to be the top economic forecaster in the country" in his "'R' is for 'Right'".

Strangely enough . . . "'R' is for 'Right'" is missing.
