3rd suspect arrested in East Bay slaying seen as hate crime

The third of three men wanted in connection with what’s believed to be a racially motivated slaying of a black musician at an El Sobrante pool hall has been taken into custody, authorities said Saturday.
Daniel Ortega had been on the run for more than a month since the Nov. 12 killing of William Sims, a 28-year-old singer, guitarist and piano player who lived in Richmond, authorities said. The 31-year-old Ortega, of Novato, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office did not immediately elaborate on the circumstances of Ortega’s arrest. He was being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of murder and robbery.
Sims was found beaten and shot on the road outside the Capri Club, a pool club on the 4100 block of Appian Way in El Sobrante. Investigators say he was targeted because of his race.

That'll get what's coming to them in prison. GAH, how cna people be so hateful. If you don't like people of a particular persuasion, then do go around them. Kind of simple.
