Texas officially removes Planned Parenthood from Medicaid

Source: Dallas Morning News

AUSTIN Texas officially removed Planned Parenthood from the state's Medicaid program Tuesday, according to a report from the Texas Tribune.

A legal notice obtained by the Tribune said the $3 million in Medicaid reimbursements the organization received in 2015 will be cancelled in 30 days. Planned Parenthood could request a hearing with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to delay the cutoff date, but officials told the Tribune they would resolve the matter in court.

"Planned Parenthood continues to serve Medicaid patients and will seek a preliminary injunction in an ongoing lawsuit filed in November 2015, following the state's original threats to take action against Planned Parenthood's patients," Yvonne Gutierrez, executive director of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes, told the Tribune.

The state has been looking to completely remove Planned Parenthood from the state's Medicaid program since October, after a series of undercover videos was released that showed Planned Parenthood officials discussing the use of fetal tissue for research.

Ineffectual and petulant keyboard commandos are very, very tough... in allegation if not in actual deed.

Your online courage of course, will be allowed all the consideration it indeed and in fact, warrants.

Texas is so gerrymandered, that it will take decades to readjust it...and the next census in 4 years, will only make it worse!

Add to that, the guns and Jesus crowd, the racists, bigots, men that hate women, women that hate other women, and a state legislature controlled by "God's" chosen...Texas needs more then fingers!

Were it not for Tom Delay's gerrymandering we would be blue. The 50 state strategy was working here until it was taken away. There are a lot of loyal Democrats you seem to be glad to see go.

Well, we ain't leaving, get used to it!

It will take registering a lot of voters in South Texas who tend to vote Democrat. We have a hurdle to overcome the gerrymandering which is extreme, but the demographics are changing our way and it will happen.

If we get a DNC that is prepared to fight in all 50 states instead of ignoring all but the "battleground states" we can turn Texas blue. That would change the whole dynamic of any future election and get the far RW out of office!

Of course, they did not budget for that. To Republicans, it's a holy muracle of life before the birth; but after the birth, it's a sniveling little welfare cheat.

In every state that tried drug testing of welfare recipients, they found that a smaller percentage of welfare recipients use drugs than the general population, and that drug testing is very costly, with no benefits to taxpayers.

Plus, if the person in prison is a "trustee", he or she can be rented out for light manufacturing and call center at $1.25 an hour or so plus overhead - and each dollar earned will be turned over to the prison accounting to pay for the individual's security, housing, clothing, and food - oh, and maybe as payment for individual health insurance access to a PA or a NP and an ambulance/emergency clinic medical set-up that handles the entire medical department for the prison.

Nice revenue stream for the corporations - who probably won't be paying tax for operating in the state. And a way to deal with an over-abundance of the under-educated disposable population that there will no longer be living-wage paying jobs for due to technology, outsourcing and other profit-enhancing business measures.

The National Religion has become the worship of Christ-Mammon.
