New questions complicate Ellison's bid for DNC chair

Source: The Hill

Opponents of Rep. Keith Ellisonís bid to be the next Democratic National Committee chairman are raising new questions about the Minnesota Democratís past to make the case that heís unfit to be the partyís next leader.

Ellison's critics in the DNC and some supporters of Labor secretary Tom Perez, the other top candidate, are pointing to the Minnesota Democratís past tax troubles, campaign finance violations and minor legal issues that once led to his driverís license being suspended as evidence that heís ill-equipped to lead the DNC.

Some of those instances date back to the 1990s. All of the issues have been rectified and were previously used in attacks against Ellison during his first run for House in 2006.

That year, Ellisonís then-wife, Kim Ellison, who acted as his campaign treasurer, wrote to the Minneapolis Star Tribune to accept responsibility for all of the violations.

1. What will that famous liberal media focus on?

A ten year old story or something else. I guess this article answers that question.

Peace

10. never forget -brebart, fox and Hill articles TOP 3 medias pushed thousands of times by Republicans.

even republican trump it-self, made hundreds of tweets attached to brebart, fox and the Hill articles. Those are Republicans main three medias they use to push 'News' and messageboard 'breaking news' RW propaganda.

12. Ellison got several million sigs from petitions, one I signed was from about a month ago.

If Ellison doesn't work out, he can be replaced by someone else.

should've had the job, he did such a good job before.

When I saw him interviewed, he just pretended it was nothing and didn't address anything.

6. unfortunately and I am wary of saying this but

unfortunately and I am wary of saying this but the democrats need to not just focus in on minorities like african americans, hispanics, muslims and lgbtq. They have to focus in on other groups as well.

If the democratic party becomes just the party of the minorities, they will continue to lose.

Its sad to say that the democrats dont need Ellison as party leader even as qualified as he is. He again represents african american and muslim characteristics combined.

the democrats need to probably have a white male lead the party to have the best chance getting elected and helping the minorities get on equal footing.

I hate to say that but in todays environment I think its true.

11. Too much baggage, like Hillary

We need to have somebody like Obama, fairly clean.

That said, I hope that anybody else considered is subjected to the same amount of scrutiny as Ellison.

Cause no matter who it is, they will be subject to a smear campaign by the GOP.

So it's hard to know if any of the others have any more or less baggage at this point.

28. Have known Keith since the 90''s.

The Guy is the real deal, and getting sideways with his personal and family things, has the GOP ready to hammer the crap out of him. Like Hillary, precieved guilt just hangs around like the smell of rotten fish. And the GOP will exploit it to no end.

Maybe they should take some time to find a good all around fit instead of rushing to put a warm body in place.
