BURNEY, Calif. (AP) The Latest on Northern California gas station attendant set on fire (all times local):

A nonprofit is offering $10,000 to help find an attacker who set a Northern California gas station attendant on fire, killing him.

Secret Witness of Shasta County posted the reward Thursday, a day after the assailant went into the business, sprayed a flammable liquid on 54-year-old David Wicks and set him on fire.

The attack happened near Burney, a small logging community an hour's drive east of Redding.

Surveillance video shows victim being lit on fire

BURNEY, Calif. - The Shasta County Sheriff's Office is now calling the fire at a Burney gas station Wednesday night, a homicide. Deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.

According to deputies, around 7:00 p.m., deputies from the Burney Station arrived at the Rocky Ledge Shell Station in Johnson Park for a reported structure fire. Once on scene, emergency personnel found a man with severe burns. The victim was provided emergency medical treatment and then transported by air ambulance.

Officials said the victim succumbed to his injuries. The victim in this incident has been identified as David Wicks. Wicks was an employee at the gas station.

Detective from the Major Crimes Unit and Deputies from the Burney Station have actively investigated the incident through the night. Surveillance video was reviewed of the incident and the video showed the horrific chain of events.
