The Buffalo real estate developer who served as New York co-chair for Donald Trumps campaign said his greatest hopes for 2017 are that President Barack Obama dies and that his wife Michelle is set loose in the outback of Zimbabwe.

True to form, Carl Paladino isnt backing down from the deeply offensive [link:http://artvoice.com/2016/12/23/want-2017-lot-different-opinions/#.WF1cb5OAOkpcomments] he made to alt-weekly newspaper Artvoice for their year-end survey of 42 locals about their wish lists for the coming year.

Tell them all to go f*** themselves, Paladino added in reference to the News editors who put in the request for confirmation. "Tell that Rod Watson I made that comment just for him," he continued, referring to a News editor who is black.

A statement today from the Trump transition team makes it clear they condemn the comments made by New York campaign co-chair Carl Paladino.

Paladino’s 2017 “wish list” for a local news item included a desire to see President Obama dead and to send Michelle Obama “loose in the outback of Zimbabwe” with a gorilla. (Paladino argued that the latter was not racist.)

There were plenty of statements of condemnation today, but there was also this statement by the Trump transition team. Via USA Today:

“Carl’s comments are absolutely reprehensible, and they serve no place in our public discourse.”

School board member Paladino continues to suck from the Buffalo Public School District (and the City of Buffalo) coffers in that he collects rental fees on properties he owns which are being used as charter schools. This obvious conflict of interest has been exposed but he still remains on the board, this enemy of public education. Paladino has much in common with other members of the new administration in many obvious ways. I personally know folks in town who love this creep with the same ardor in which they love their Great Orange Carbuncle. Each and every one of them are unapologetic racists. The City of Buffalo and Erie County, unfortunately and depressingly contain some of the most segregated communities in the US, with statistics bearing this out. We have our share of confederate flag waving racist idiots here in Great Lakes Country, not the majority, but enough of them to allow somebody like Paladino to gain a voice as well as a certain amount of political clout. The dustup was captured in an exclusive cellphone video by CNN affiliate YNN Albany. It began with New York Post statehouse columnist Fred Dicker pressing Paladino to back up an explosive allegation he made to the Politico website Wednesday that his opponent, Andrew Cuomo, had taken "paramours" during his marriage to Kerry Kennedy.

"Do you have any evidence of the charge you made?"

"You'll get it at the appropriate time. You're not entitled to it," retorted Paladino, who then derided Dicker as Cuomo's "stalking horse" and "bird dog."
