Trump Builds War Room to Defend Cabinet Picks

Source: Political Wire

December 26, 2016
By Taegan Goddard

Politico: “The transition team has recruited dozens of Republican public relations veterans and policy experts to help sell the public and the Senate on Trump’s selections, according to sources close to the transition. Their task will be to convince Americans that the billionaires, generals, donors and CEOs chosen by the president-elect have the expertise to manage the federal government — even if they have no Washington experience.”

“Every nominee has his or her own team of sherpas, or guides, to teach them about the inner workings of their agency, help prep them for confirmation hearings and guide them through the process of filing a mountain of paperwork… Meanwhile, each nominee has been assigned a ‘media sherpa,’ who has been tasked with managing negative stories about nominees, helping to sort out the logistics of meetings with senators and their staffs, and providing background information to reporters.”

Gerrymandering will work for US House positions and local elections, but they can't affect the Senate, where confirmations are held.

That said, gerrymandering can put people in positions where they can affect the vote counting.

you can then pass all sorts of laws to put hurdles in front of voters that you know are unlikely to support the candidate that your political party is supporting.

Royally screwed, and for a very long time IMHO.

NOT seeing Dems hold the line on WHO tRumputin puts on that Supreme Court. They'll buckle as usual, and tRumputin will get to appoint who he wants to the Supreme Court. Wish Dems knew how to street fight. Oh well.

are unable to because of the current makeup of the House.
If we want change there then we need to focus more on the state level offices because if the GOP controls that we have seen what happens, they pass laws to stop people from being able to vote under the bogus guise of trying to stop voter fraud.

So true.

Dems bring a gallon of milk to a street fight vs thuglicans, and I don't see that ending anytime soon. Dems will continue to get steam-rolled for the unforeseeable future.

We're royally screwed unfortunately for a good long time.

Litigating each and every member of his staff, his cabinet, and the fat fuck himself. I'm sure there are plenty of violations that have been and will be committed by these dumpsters. Keeping them all continually busy in court actions might just slow down the damage they can do in their appointed positions.

There are two main types of dump nominees: the predators (e.g. Mnuchin, Tillerson, Zinke), brought in to loot and exploit or facilitate imposition of facism (Sessions), and the saboteurs (Perry, Carson, DeVos, Pruitt) whose role is to destroy the agency. Dump's PR flacks can't overcome or erase the past actions of these assholes, such as their parasitic behavior, racism, incompetence, or stated destructive agenda.

However, most likely the corporate media won't give sufficient coverage to the sordid history of these vermin and the PR will work well enough to fool many muricans. dump's toadys are counting on it.

This is very similar to our cultural mass delusion that the pharaohs built the pyramids, that the kings built the castles, and that the popes built the cathedrals. No, they did not! Other people built these things. People like most of us. We can build things, too. Some of us are building some wonderful things. And, when they do, they should get the credit.
