The unverified report by a person claiming to be a former British intelligence official alleges that Russian officials intended to blackmail Trump with evidence of him allegedly hiring multiple sex workers to perform "golden showers" in front of him. The hotel where the acts allegedly occurred were said to be under Russian surveillance.

I'm wary of fixating on the golden showers aspect because unless there's actual uncontrovertible clear video (heaven forbid), it's unprovable, and I'm thinking of Dan Rather here. It would go a few ways: "How could anyone in their right minds believe he'd do a thing like that" (hi, Kellyanne) or "It's no more or less than what I'd expect of the ole pussy-grabber" or "Big deal." It's certainly grabbing a few headlines at the moment.

OTOH, Trump et al. can't really prove a negative - "Here's definitive proof Donald J. Trump has never paid ladies of the night to relieve themselves on each other on a hotel bed formerly occupied by FLOTUS" - so it's damaging in what may be a relatively trivial sense (especially as we know how thin-skinned Trump is, and he's already being roundly ridiculed about it on his Twitter feed), but the meat is, as you say, the other allegations, and that one is just a part of potentially explosive blackmail material the Russians may hold.

Given that the lovely Kellyanne's best shot so far has been to shriek FAKE! and claim that Trump was "unaware" he'd been briefed about it (which, if the reports so far are correct, would imply that Trump either never looked at the dossier during his intelligence briefing, or at least not at the two-page addendum appended to it), I'd imagine there's currently a lot of feverish second-guessing in the Trump camp about what they can plausibly deny or not.

As ever, an offense may be bad enough, but an attempted cover-up is often what sinks people: "It depends what you mean by the word 'piss' ..." may be the least of their worries.

The fuller story is giving me pause that we're being set-up.

The story I've read is that the prostitutes peed on the bed that Obama and Michele had stayed in a few months earlier, as T directed and watched.

Do I think T is capable of this? Yes. He's a disgusting predator and a visceral racist but somehow the Obama tie-in is making me wonder if it's a scenario where a fake story is planted and then when it's later debunked, it works to cast doubt on all the other Russian hack and collusion and blackmail stories, which are in fact true.

It's a kind of Breitbart double fake out.

There's something so extreme about this version. T knows about hotels and hidden cameras. I can't believe he'd be so stupid as to ask for this kind of thing in Russia.

So this hotel was managed by the FSB who had cameras everywhere, yet Trump supposedly got that exact Hotel room because the Obama's stayed there. That's the whole premise that Trump hired the watersport strippers to pee on the bed because that's the bed the Obama's slept in.

Somehow i can't imagine Obama staying in a FSB controlled and monitored hotel room.
