Government ethics chief blasts Trump business plan
Source: The Hill
The head of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) on Wednesday slammed President-elect Donald Trumps plan to separate himself from his business interests, calling it wholly inadequate in resolving potential conflicts of interest.
The plan the [president-elect] has announced doesnt meet the standards that the best of his nominees are meeting and that every president in the last four decades have met, OGE Director Walter Shaub said during a speech at the Brookings Institution in Washington.
Shaub, an Obama appointee, said the only way for Trump to avoid conflicts between his business empire and the presidency is to sell his assets and place them in a blind trust.

(101,318 posts)Trump has to decide: does he want to hang on to, and leave to his children, obscene amounts of money, and screw the USA, or behave like a decent American, and just have and leave ridiculous amounts of money? All his (and their) history points to the 'obscene'/'screwing' options.

Far as I can remember that was the nearest thing any candidate has had to Trump.
How did Carter handle it? I can't remember.
