30 pounds of cocaine found on American Airlines plane brought to Tulsa for maintenance

Source: Tulsaworld

Tulsa County deputies retrieved about 30 pounds of cocaine after a flight from Colombia landed in Tulsa for maintenance.

An American Airlines employee was conducting maintenance Sunday afternoon on a Boeing 757 when the employee found one of seven bricks of the schedule two substance, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Casey Roebuck said.

The flight was from Bogota, Colombia to Miami, Roebuck said. The plane was initially scheduled for maintenance there but was deferred to Tulsa due to a scheduling issue.

"That's a lot of cocaine, so we suspect cartel involvement," Roebuck said. "That's why we're turning it over to the DEA."

2. I worked at Lockheed-Georgia in the early 70s

We had a C-130 come to us from SEA for overhaul. As they started to take the plane apart, they found bundles and bundles of Hash hidden in the wing center section.

3. You should see the stuff they missed.

This is a routine smuggling avenue - one among a hundred others.

The streets and cities of South Florida are flooded with coke. Ask Donald, that's why he comes here so often.

Frankly, I'm shocked the maintenance guy turned it in.

OTOH, maybe he did cause there's usually ten bricks - seven is an odd number. Who knows, maybe it was a smaller plane?

6. As a mechanic I can tell you that if you find drugs

During routine maintenance you had damn well better report it.

Failure to do so will result in your being terminated and possibly prosecuted as an accomplice.

Sometimes the Feds like to leave shipments in place and observe what happpens.

The mechanic did the right thing..

8. The guy who turned it in was at Tulsa.

But now the Feds know they need to be checking out AA's maintenance crews at Miami very, very thoroughly.

4. That is actually, the approved storage location for international transport of coke

According to current FAA and FDA government mandated standards,
all coke involved in international shipments via airplane must be securely stored in the aircraft's wheel wells so as not to accidently become aerosolized into the aircraft's air circulation system.
So what's the problem here, anyway???

7. What kind of maintenance does cocaine need ?

Or should I be asking, "for maintenance of whose habit"?

9. Beat me to it!

People don't understand that our need to correct dangling participles and other grammatical hilarities is involuntary! We must!!!
