"Moonlight" won the best picture Oscar after "La La Land" was incorrectly called out. Emma Stone, Casey Affleck, Mahershala Ali and Viola Davis won acting awards. Barry Jenkins won the adapted screenplay award for Tarell Alvin McCraney's "Moonlight" and Kenneth Lonnergan for his original script, "Manchester by the Sea."

He didn't know exactly what to do, you could see the confusion on his face. Faye Dunaway thought he was just being goofy, so when he showed it to her to confirm that he was reading the wrong thing, she saw the movie title, and read it out loud.

I've been indirectly involved with awards shows (not on the scale of the Oscars, but televised) and it is common to have a duplicate set. In some instances, this is done because the presenters may enter the stage from the different spots during the course of the telecast. They typically are handed the envelope just as they are about to go onstage, so there are duplicate sets to ensure that they can be handed the envelope without someone having to scamper from one side of the backstage area to the other to give them the envelope.

66. Agree. The ending certainly was not what one would have expected

but I think that all the praises were about the singing and dancing and in general I enjoyed the movie but I thought that the others were stronger.

On the other hand, Hollywood does like to praise itself, remember the silent movie the Artist? Which we loved, by the way.

And, I suppose, during these depressing times, something to enjoy. Just as we did, even before the elections, with A Man called Ove.

We also saw Jackie and when "she" described how she was collecting items of American history to replenish the White House I could not help wondering whether Melania has any sense of American history and art. Even though, the poor woman, she just wanted to marry well and enjoy the perks of life after her modeling career was over..

I even thought it had the feel of the classics. Just a timeless story of falling in love with some magical moments like the freeway scene and the going into the stars scene. I was rooting for it, and it's a shame they were on stage for about 5 minutes before having it taken away.
