Currently, mothers and children who cross the border together—and it’s virtually always mothers and children, rather than fathers—stay together. In many cases, they’re put in family detention centers, though they are frequently released quickly while they await asylum hearings. Reuters reported on March 4 that the Department of Homeland Security was considering separating mothers from their children when it apprehended them. Mothers would be put in detention centers, while their children would be in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services, according to the report.

The assholes making this crap up pretend to revere the fetus, but as soon as a baby is born, it becomes a political poker chip. The assholes who are making this policy aren't human. They can't be.

I can look on the news sites every single day and see stories of horrific abuse of children. People don't leave their homes and break up their families unless the alternative is death. So the women and children coming here are already incredibly vulnerable and shellshocked. How can the U.S. government make it policy to add to the horror that is the refugees' reality? They are cruel, sadistic p.o.s., that's how.

I know the answer--the poem on the Statue of Liberty says, 'your wretched refuse' -- well that wretched refuse obviously spawned trump and the other bastards that are perverting the American ideal.
