Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said information provided by the Department of Justice contained no proof of Trump’s unsubstantiated claim.

By Marina Fang

WASHINGTON ― The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee on Sunday announced that evidence provided by President Donald Trump’s administration does not prove his unsubstantiated claim that his predecessor Barack Obama ordered wiretapping on Trump Tower during last year’s campaign.

“Was there a physical wiretap of Trump Tower? No, there never was,” Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said on “Fox News Sunday.” “The information we got on Friday continues to lead us in that direction.” The DOJ was originally asked to turn over the information on Monday, but that afternoon, asked for an extension.

.......................................
Nunes also said that “there was no warrant that I’m aware of” authorizing any wiretapping of Trump Tower, confirming what top intelligence officials under Obama have also determined.

Trump and his staff continue to defend the allegation, even after both the House and Senate Intelligence Committees found last week that they have no evidence to suggest any sort of activity.

Sean Spicer spent a lot of time Friday trying to tell reporters that Intel committees had not looked at these docs.

yes, all of us here know Cheetohead has been lying from the beginning. But the eventual point is to convince his base that they voted for a psycho fool. It will take time and repetition. The House and/or Senate cannot move against this poser until they feel confident they have the people behind them. Many are not willing to give it up yet. His support is eroding and the longer he maintains this insanity, the more support he will lose. We have to have a little patience and hope he will not start a nuclear war in the meantime. It's a delicate balance, but I know the repukes in Congress won't come along until they feel their voters have their backs. They will not do the right thing just because it is the right thing.
