Report: Bannon Wants A 'S*** List' Of Health Care 'No' Votes
Source: Talking Points Memo
By MATT SHUHAM Published MARCH 24, 2017, 3:14 PM EDT
The Daily Beast reported Friday that the White House plans to keep a shit list of Republicans who vote against the American Health Care Act, President Donald Trumps preferred bill to replace Obamacare.
Citing multiple unnamed Trump administration officials, the Daily Beast reported that Steve Bannon, the Presidents chief strategist, had advised Trump to keep, depending on the source, a shit list, hit list or a running tally of [the Republicans] who want to sink this.
Not sure if Id call it an enemies list, per se, but I wouldnt want to be on it, one source told the publication.
Though some conservative outlets have already begun pinning responsibility for the shaky-legged legislation on House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), the White House has emphasized that they have worker with the Speaker.

(1,698 posts)have his list. All of the names will be misspelled anyway. He'll be shooting at the wrong people from the wrong state, in the wrong district, constantly. Let him follow the lead of the red-nosed drunk right into that gutter they always wind up in.

(20,136 posts)The Drumpf administration has no political power now. His approval numbers are tanking and he can't even get a bill passed despite Republicans being in control.
In fact, having Trump oppose you now is probably a net positive, not a negative.

(904 posts)I thought some hard right wingers (like the "Freedom Cockus" were against the bill because it wasn't mean-spirited enough. Is he going to give them a pass? Strike them from his list. Hmmm.
Sadly, I suppose their next healthcare agenda will be to slowly chip away at Obamacare, working towards it's failure. They sure don't want it to succeed and help anyone. (What a bunch of SOBs!)

(5,914 posts)A way for them to express their "no" votes while appearing tough and hard-line. They didn't want anyone to know that they were really afraid of being tarred and feathered by the voters in their districts.

I think we are seeing a War of the Billionaires - Kock's vs. Mercer's. Daddy Mercer is stone-cold crazy; Kock's are stone-cold, period. I guess it will be like the Running Man - if you can outrun the others, you get all the marbles.

That it's hard to know who voted how, you can't find out. I immediately thought, he must have tried to get that info.

Trump can go tweet about it
Bannon needs to destroy the grand old party as we know it. He can start a new party that supports nationalism and American workers. He can call it the Nationalist American Workers Party or NAWP for short. David Duke and Steve King could join it.

Steve Bannon may pretend to be a journalist but if he were one, he'd know better than to instruct someone to work up a list of Republicans who voted No on Trumpcare. Many daily newspapers will bother to list all the votes cast on the bill, and most of them will divide up the list by political party.
Bannon and some other True Believers may be thinking of revenge at this moment - but those Republicans (the ones who voted No) were the crucial deciding factor in this proposal. Figuring the Democrats will always vote No on a Trump proposal, and that the Republicans who today voted Yes have already sold their souls to Trump, it is the maverick Republicans whose votes will be needed on future proposals - Trump will need to feed them carrots, not the stick. In fact, it is these Republicans who may have the whip hand - and if they have some smarts, they may insist that that Bannon be dumped, followed closely by some other poisonous political types.
Moreover, in the 2018 Elections, it is these Republicans, the ones who saved the Affordable Care Act, who may breeze through to re-election, while the Republicans who tried to replace the ACA with Trumpcare get early retirement from politics. So Trump and his associates should smarten up on whose fences they should be mending.
