President Donald Trump was reportedly skimpy on the details of the now-failed American Health Care Act in a meeting with conservative Republicans Thursday, apparently telling them to "forget about the little shit," multiple unnamed sources told Politico.
The report described a meeting that Trump had with members of the Freedom Caucus, in which members pelted him with "wonkish concerns" about specific aspects of the Republicans' bill to repeal and replace Obamacare. Trump cut them off, according to the report, wanting to keep it simple. "Forget about the little shit," Trump said, unnamed sources told Politico."Let's focus on the big picture here."
That reportedly did not sit well with members in attendance.
"Were talking about one-fifth of our economy," an unnamed member told Politico's Tim Alberta.

(28,845 posts)No, not that either. Ryan is the little shit. It's the Big Shit we have to worry about.. Trump himself.

That's kind of your job.
Trump is the one at fault here, not the Freedom Caucus.

(4,315 posts)... He moaned about all the parts of the GOPer's failed bill that "he had problems with," and when pressed multiple times to "name just one" of then, he refused.
He really didn't know what the fuck was in it.
In the run up he kept asking aides, "this is a good bill, right?" And the swarm of sycophants all chirped "yes yes it's beautiful, herr Gropenfuhrer!"
I'm so embarrassed by my Country.

(4,315 posts)He had a problem with the term "buckets," as described in the summary he somehow found the focusing discipline to cogitate and reflect upon.
All he really ever wanted "was another bill to sign."

(129,450 posts)the purpose of the legislative branch (Congress) IS to deal with "the little shit".
They want to know why there are so many "regulations"? That's often because they left "the little shit" out of a bill that was signed into law and court case after court case after court case afterwards, required someone to do some kind of clarification.

(10,279 posts)The purpose of this bill is really robbery. The Big Shit in this bill is to move almost $1T from Medicare and give it to our 2% buddies as taxcuts. You fools are messing up my plan by looking at the Little Shit in the bill. So, smarten up and pass my bill."

The Trumpsters really know how politics and government work, don't they?

(7,963 posts)It is common sense to me that this tactic doesn't work. It never does. But I see corporations in various industries always using this technique as if they are special and they wouldn't get the same results.
But they always get the same results. They always fail. You can't whip your employees and expect improved productivity. You can't threaten people and expect compliance and loyalty. Isn't this basic leadership 101?
I see where this hard stance comes from now, though. These are the people that run failed corporations.

(16,875 posts)Trump is an asshole, and he is an ignorant asshole at that. He didn't know any fine details of this bill because he can't be bothered learning "the little shit". What he wanted was a bill, a legislative victory, and he failed in epic fashion because a). He's a dipshit and B). This ain't business where you can strong arm people into doing what you want them to do. Is it any longer a surprise that this guy has had so many bankruptcies and failed business ventures?? What a fraud!
