President Donald Trump has signed new legislation repealing regulation designed to protect workers from wage theft. The Obama-era rule penalised businesses that violated wage and safety laws by pulling their government contracts if they racked up too many offences.

Those employee protections are now a thing of the past and, as the Huffington Post reports, Congressional Republicans argued that the regulation were too restrictive and killed jobs. Lawmakers used the Congressional Review Act on Monday to effectively repeal the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces rule. Republicans have employed the rarely used law to revoke more than a dozen Obama-era policies since Mr Trump took office.

On Monday evening, President Trump commended the new resolution. “Today I'm signing 4 bills under the Congressional Review Act that cancels regulations & eliminates unnecessary, job-killing rules," he wrote on Twitter.

The regulation forced businesses to disclose each time they broke a law in the past three years, including violations relating to civil rights, health and safety, and minimum wage and overtime violations...........................

These headlines that point to "Trump Destroying the Obama Legacy" meme are distracting. I sorta think they are by design in order to seem compelling and get clicks.

The headlines distract us from the very real destruction of what the dismantling of these laws actually means. In most cases, Obama, as a person, will be fine and unphased by Trump. I wish the headlines would focus on the actual laws and not making this a Trump vs Obama issue.

Trump is pissed that he failed to repeal Obamacare and put his shiny golden name on something new.
Trump thinks that Obama (whom he originally admired!) has illegally wiretapped him and won't let go of the claim, no matter the lack of evidence.

...which could be my own mistake. By pitting this as an "Trump vs Obama" issue, the focus is off of the laws and the issues that are actually being dismantled. Many low info voters are happy or sad based on how they think Obama will be impacted about these - all the while not thinking that Obama is going to be the least hurt by Trump's laws.

and in the OP .

why don't you comment on the policy instead of complaining about Obama getting any mention for something he did.
