House Freedom Caucus signals support for healthcare bill with changes
Source: RawStory
The majority of House Freedom Caucus members will vote for a Republican healthcare bill if changes offered by the White House are included in the legislation, the head of the conservative group of House Republicans said on Thursday.
U.S. Representative Mark Meadows said the group wants to see health insurance coverage waivers related to community rating protections with the exception of gender, essential health benefits and guaranteed issue.
If those offers that were made over the last couple of days actually appear in the legislation, the majority, if not almost all of the Freedom Caucus, will vote for this bill, he said at a Politico news event.

(68,868 posts)Will they walk the plank for a bill that won't pass in the Senate, for a mentally unbalanced, unpopular president with no core beliefs?
Also, it's Thursday, Congress leaves for its recess tomorrow.

(7,984 posts)How mental health related mass shootings, such as Newtown, have dried up? I think we can thank ACA for that by keeping young people on their parents insurance until age 26 playing a big role in that. Republican bills will reverse that trend - you can take it to the bank.

(10,075 posts)They can't refuse to sell you a policy but they can charge you thousands more based on your health history - same difference.
Also with removing "essential benefits", cheap policies that cover nothing are back too.
I'm sure screwing Planned Parenthood is somewhere in there too.

(7,984 posts)This is just a move to get Trumpcare III out of the House and into the Senate's hands. But calling that the "good news" just shows how awful this is. The Senate bill will only be slightly better than Trumpcare I so it will be a dark day for America. Republicans: Sick people should die because it's God's will and this bill will accomplish just that.

NEVER rule out the fuck wittery of republicans, which includes their ability to maintain party unity.

(25,955 posts)They would be totally stupid to pass this bill as it allows pre-existing pricing if not total exclusion. People are going to explode when they can't use their cheap but useless insurance and others will explode when they can't afford coverage at all. Eitgher way, Repugs will pay and pay dearly for this treachery. I just hope they revert to norm and can't agree with themselves and yet another Drumpf plan goes down in flames. Failing to pass this would also put a huge dent in their ability to get tax reform through the House. Hoping and praying for total disfunction and inability to pass this bill. Otherwise, me and my husband will be fucked over badly, along with tens of thousands of others.
