Manhunt in Cleveland After Killing Broadcast on Facebook Live
Source: NBC
Cleveland police were searching Sunday for a man who they said killed a person live on Facebook and bragged about having committed many other homicides. The Facebook video that was pulled is posted over at heavy.com. I won't provide a link. I'm sure people can find it if they want. Caution, it is very graphic, pretty much exactly how you'd expect the video of a 93-year old man getting shot point blank in the head would look.
The suspect, identified as Steve Stephens, is considered armed and dangerous, police said after the homicide in northeast Cleveland near the Lake Erie shore. The FBI was providing assistance, a spokeswoman told NBC News.

(18,274 posts)Fuck him. He has no reason to target others because he's going through tough times.
He's to the rare point of no return where suicide may be the best option. Why make innocents suffer before the inevitable? This despicable coward is just going to make the cops do it for him.
I know that's cold, but this is a tragedy.

(26,296 posts)I mean, not that I want anybody to be a homicidal maniac, but for a well-known (maybe not famous anymore) musician to do something like that would have been personally disappointing, as a fan.
I hope this guy gets caught without further bloodshed.

(2,736 posts)During a Facebook video posted, Steve Stephens, the murder suspect blames his actions on his mother and his ex-girlfriend, Joy Lane.
Lane is allegedly Stephens' ex-girlfriend of approximately three years. In regards to the shooting, she broke her silence in a text message to CBS News. She said:
We had been in a relationship for several years. I am sorry that all of this has happened. My heart & prayers goes out to the family members of the victim(s). Steve really is a nice guy... he is generous with everyone he knows. He was kind and loving to me and my children. This is a very difficult time for me and my family Please respect our privacy at this time.
Cleveland police said Stephens shot and killed Robert Godwin, Sr., the 74-year-old victim picked by Stephens at random. In one of the videos, Stephens approaches Godwin, Sr. on the street, and makes the victim say the woman's name "Joy Lane" before fatally shooting him. During a separate video, Stephens said, "She's the reason why I'm making this video. She is the reason what's about to happen today."

(12,384 posts)She dumped him for a reason. And if he's turned into Mr. Hyde after being the mild-mannered Dr. Jekyll, there was an underlining issue he had way before he met her.
"It's your fault I'm a bad person" only marginally is true at a certain point in everyone's life - and that's only if there was truly toxic parenting or mentoring involved. But once anyone is old enough to know the difference between self and others, once they learn the difference between selfishness and enlightened self-interest, then it's all on them.
The guy has serious control and anger issues.
