Trump admin: Iran in compliance, but nuclear deal under review

The State Department informed Congress Tuesday that Iran is in compliance with the nuclear deal and that it will continue relief from sanctions under the agreement.

President Trump has ordered a full review of the 2015 agreement, which he has repeatedly criticized as a failure of his predecessor President Barack Obama.

The State Department must update Congress on Iran’s compliance with the deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, every 90 days. It is the first such update under President Trump.

With his fragile ego, too much flak for breaking this promise could make him knee jerk tear up the agreement. The last thing we need now is pending war in Syria, one with North Korea AND another with Iran.
