The Susan B. Anthony List, an anti-abortion group, on Monday blamed Republicans for including funding for Planned Parenthood in a must-pass spending bill to keep the federal government open.
With pro-life Republican majorities in both houses, it is incredibly disappointing that any Republican spending bill would contain continued funding for Planned Parenthood, the groups president Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement.
Dannenfelser exhorted congressional Republicans to move quickly and redirect funding from Planned Parenthood using reconciliation.
Congressional leaders on Sunday reached a compromise on a measure to fund the federal government through September, which would also ensure federal funding for Planned Parenthood until then. Congress is expected to vote on the bill early this week.

You know, we are not supposed to "hate"...but these groups I truly .."hate" Most of the money for Planned Parenthood goes for preventive measures and health exams. Yes, exams to prevent and catch diseases in the very early stages, where they are "treatable"..You know....like, "cancer", STDs and AIDs.

(6,205 posts)There is no room for purity in our democracy. The repubs have brainwashed their voters to be against compromise which means not always getting what you want. I hope a lot of folks get this too.

(9,929 posts)Just like they do/did not really care about Hillary's speaking fees, nor that Russian uranium mine, nor Bill's blow job, nor where Obama was born, nor any "War" on Christmas, nor any GOP collusion/corruption/nepotism/incompetence, etc. All they care about is getting votes from non-critical gullible voters. Once they get the votes they can continue to skim off tax payer money to themselves and wealthy bankrollers. They know the Hyde amendment exists.
In an odd way, the GOP needs abortions to remain legal to keep those reliable votes. Single issue anti-abortion voters are pretty much unreachable.
