Macron confirms massive hack just ahead of election

Campaign accused hackers of adding fake documents to real ones to sow doubt and disinformation.
French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macrons campaign confirmed late Friday that it was the victim of a massive and coordinated cyberattack hours after a large trove of emails purportedly from his political party appeared online.
The campaign said in a lengthy statement that Macrons party En Marche blamed the hack for the dissemination on social networks of various kinds of internal information, according to a translation of the statement.

Now confirmed by Macron, it seems the same game plan is to be implemented the world over.

(67,395 posts)Hillary's OWN server wasn't hacked!!! Which maybe she should have thrown in Matt Lauer's face during his idiotic "Commander in Chief" forum.

But if they had hacked her server, don't you think they would have used the emails contained therein to prove their point? I mean the whole thing about the emails was that she used a unsecured server to pass on classified information wasn't it?

And by dripping her emails out over time while she was in office, they'd cripple her Presidency. Every day her press secretary would have been addressing some new issue that came up that she emailed someone about.
Most of the emails we've seen are Podesta's, but it would shock me if they don't have DWS's emails, and imagine how bad they are. They'd start with someone like DWS, and then move to someone else. The whole time they'd KNOW that Hillary's emails were going to come out, they'd be working non-stop on damage prep, and then damage control.

(347 posts)Is that Russia has become so weak that such operations, aiming essentially at discrediting western political systems and therefore at banalizing its authoritarian regime, are the only remaining option.
Russia's economy is barely limping. Increasing number of its people express discontent. Technology is sinking. As their ships. Moral authority is non-existent. The only option is to play the pride card over and over again with increasing irrelevance and diminishing return.
Humiliated Russia attempts to soothe itself by humiliating others and delivering this humiliation to the public. Russia does not care who wins or where. Opportunistic infections as the one plaguing the american system develop in its wake but the strategic goal is already met, regardless of which idiot wins here or there.
Once that last ditch medicine is used up and the body still fails, the very only option left is a conflagration and the explosion of substantial violence somewhere. Or everywhere.
That is the ugly truth. And it does not bode well.
