WILLINGBORO, N.J. — A Republican who headed the effort to revive the health care overhaul passed by the GOP-led U.S. House faced jeers and insults Wednesday as anger boiled over among voters at a town hall in a heavily Democratic part of his district.

Rep. Tom MacArthur faced hundreds of mostly angry voters at the event in Willingboro, with some lying on the ground outside with tombstones during a die-in and heated questions about the health bill and President Donald Trump inside. Some voters chanted "goodbye" to MacArthur, who's being targeted by Democrats ahead of 2018 midterm elections.

"I hear people calling their congressman an idiot," he said "I wonder, really wonder, how any one of you would perform in Congress."

MacArthur said he came to the Democratic part of the district for his first town hall since the health care bill passed because he wants to represent both sides and he's aware of the "anxiety" over health care.

5. My rep, Jody Hice, has NEVER had a meeting in my city.

Hice hates Democrats, brown and black people and the poor.

Hice sent two of his staff to attend a town hall in a (red) town which is over an hour away from my city. So, folks from here went there and were then accused of being paid protesters.


I am so fucking angry. It is really not healthy but everyday the news is worse.

Well asshole, last year (2016) you worked 110 days making $174,000 a year, you have voted over 50 times to create your version of death panel, and you finally did it this year when you voted to create your infamous American Health Care Act, by your fascist fucking leader Paul (Ayn Rand) Ryan, without any CBO estimate, you know asshole, that before anyone goes and buys house or car, or for that matter gets a credit card, they have to get a FICO score, for eligibility or are you that fucking right republican stupid---------my answer is a yes.


Then you have so far this year (2017) been on "RECESS" over 75 days out of 110 days this year making $174,000 a year, and then you said this:
