Va. gubernatorial candidate to opponent: 'Put down the Twitter and pick up a spine'

Source: The Hill

BY LISA HAGEN - 05/11/17 11:49 AM EDT

Two candidates for Virginia governor sparred Thursday on Twitter, as the race heats up in the final month before the primaries.

Republican candidate Ed Gillespie knocked Democratic candidate Tom Perriello for receiving endorsements from progressive stalwarts Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Sanders has already stumped with Perriello at a college campus.

Gillespie, a former Republican National Committee chairman who ran for Senate in 2014, is seeking to use those endorsements against Perriello and paint him as a far-left candidate. “With @SenWarren & @BernieSanders endorsements - @TomPerriello has shown us how far left he’ll go,” Gillespie tweeted on Thursday.

Perriello, who served in Congress from 2008 to 2010, fired back, calling on Gillespie to get off of Twitter and stand up to President Trump, who Perriello claims is being influenced by Russia.
“How about you put down the twitter and pick up a spine?,” Perriello tweeted in response. “Russia is puppeteering our president and you won't make a peep. #WhatWouldReaganSay.”

Reagan would sell weapons to Iran and Iraq and give the money to terrorist groups in Afghanistan and Nicaragua.

Then declare victory over the cold war and go take a nap.

Well said, IronLionZion. Reagan has been lionized so relentlessly, that even many Democrats are reluctant to criticize what really did amount to very high crimes.

People need to get off of of social networking and create peaceful rallies. We need real newspapers that aren't corporate owned by the largest media corporations.

We need independent newspapers and we need to not always rely on just social networking websites.

When I hear Alex Jones, it makes me want to puke that we don't have too many independent media outlets out there. We need to have ones that don't have people screaming and yelling on air.

All we got for alternative media these days is people that yell and scream on megaphones. I try to get the media to report the truth on a Federal corruption case under FOIA and they ignore it like the plague.

We need real news reporters, we need people that are willing to risk their lives to do what is right. These days, many people just cower down and do nothing 'bout it. We need people like the Boston Globe that exposed a cover up of child abuse.

We need teams of news reporters that are willing to do what needs to be done.

My friend tried to become a Journalist and he was framed and outcasted as a false sex criminal. He had evidence that the Government covered up evidence of his actual innocence, and they fabricated his guilty plea. He got too truthful and went after a horrid corrupt Republican state Senator from North Carolina. That Senator's son whom was District Attorney of that same county, his Assistant helped sign and prepare the search warrant to raid his home. His other Assistant on his payroll, the Assistant DA Melanie Bridge, her brother started the criminal investigation against him. It was all colluded and collaborated. A Jury would have had at least 5 reasonable doubts or more. His lawyer forced him to plead guilty or face 20 years hard time in federal prison. The state Senator got what he wanted.

It was a clear conflict of interest, but because it was a false sex crime, because of the subject matter, nobody wanted to help him. He became another victim of corrupt political ambitions in the State of North Carolina that has become as backwards as a third world cesspit with the kangaroo courts.

He had evidence that things were done when not in his custody, aka evidence tampering admission and the Judge just threatened the Defendant to shut up and the Judge ignored all contradictory evidence. He lost and took the guilty plea.

If you try to become a real Journalist and start going after corrupt politicians, they strike back like in Star Wars, the empire strikes back.

It saddens me!

If you want to become a real journalist you need to go to school and learn how to be one. Like many of my friends have done successfully.

However they become part of the corporate establishment media and do what they are told like lemmings.

Independent journalism is about getting away from corporate newspapers deciding what you can and cannot publish, and put out evidence and let each reader decide whether it is true or false.

Does somebody have to have a college degree to be credible? Credibility can be destroyed in matter of hours. False criminal charges is all it takes to ruin an enemy. Once somebody is ruined, all the hard work is for nothing.

Politics isn't as simple as it appears. It depends on who you criticize. Some politicians okay criticism and there are those that hate it and desperately want it destroyed.

Once some random woman makes a false allegation of rape but the story doesn't make sense, it doesn't matter when somebody is told by the public defender to take the plea or face serious prison time and lifetime sex offender registration.

Politics can get dirty, I know some people that have been through mental torture for doing what is right.
