Protesters injured outside Turkish embassy in DC after Trump-Erdogan meeting
Source: CNN
Nine people were injured during a protest outside of the residence of the Turkish ambassador in Washington, DC on Tuesday, according to the official Twitter account of Washington, DC fire and EMS department.
About two dozen demonstrators showed up outside of the embassy just hours after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with President Donald Trump at the White House.
"We are protesting (Erdogan's) policies in Turkey, in Syria and in Iraq," said Flint Arthur of Baltimore, Maryland.
Arthur accused Erdogan supporters of breaching police lines and attacking protesters on at least three separate occasions.

(25,704 posts)Imagine if Mexico wanted Texas back and was occasionally setting off bombs to press their case.
And imagine if antifa decided to gin up some Mexicans to protest the White House.
It would go about like this.

(101,271 posts)If "Mexico was setting off bombs", then Mexico and the USA would be at war. And Mexicans would be arrested as citizens of an enemy.
Your scenario is not a good parallel. Here's a couple of far closer parallels: Palestinians demonstrating outside an Israeli embassy, or Irish people in the 80s demonstrating outside a British embassy. I think in neither case would the embassies have sent out goons to start punching and kicking the protesters. And if they did, they would deserve to be arrested and deported.

(4,238 posts)I don't even know where that came from. I know people who attended the protest -- they were Armenians, Assyrians, Kurds, Yazidis, and other victims of Erdogan's xenophobic regime. They were violently attacked by Erdogan's bodyguards and Turkish embassy personnel, some of them armed with guns (you can see a couple of them clearly in the video.) They have diplomatic immunity, so aside from two of them, none were arrested for their assault. Fucking assholes.

(16,162 posts)Security for the Turkish president could be seen on video Tuesday attacking protesters outside of the DC home of the Turkish ambassador.
The brawl erupted when Turkish President Recep Erdogans security detail encountered demonstrators carrying the flag of the Kurdish PYD party outside the residence, the Guardian reported.
Video shows men in suits, believed to be Erdogans bodyguards, pummeling the protesters and kicking some in the head as DC police try to stop them.
Doug Buchanan, a DC Fire and EMS spokesman, says two of those hurt were seriously injured and were taken to hospitals by ambulance.

It happened in December, and it was a story that seemed like it probably wasn't what it seemed.
