Trump approval rating hits new low in new poll

A new Politico/Morning Consult poll
released early Wednesday found Trump's approval rating is at 42 percent. Half of registered voters disapprove of the job the president is doing. The president had a 46 percent job approval rating in a similar poll conducted earlier this month.

The latest poll was conducted after Trump fired former FBI Director James Comey, but before reports that the president revealed highly classified intelligence to Russian officials and that he asked Comey to end the federal investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

The new poll finds that 38 percent of voters now "strongly disapprove" of Trump's job performance and just 19 percent strongly approve. A majority, 64 percent, of Democrats strongly disapprove of the president, compared to 43 percent of Republicans who strongly approve.

Only 42 percent of those who say they voted for Trump in the 2016 election strongly approve of the job he is doing. Seventy percent of those who say they voted for Hillary Clinton strongly disapprove of Trump's job performance.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 58% of Trump voters no longer strongly approve of his performance. They may still approve, but the shine is beginning to wear off this pile of shit for them.

I sometimes forget that most Americans do not start their day reading DU.
I wish every news site and news TV network would feature the stories we find on the DU front pages. I fear that he has such support still because so many live off of RW hate radio and Fox News and only hear lies crafted exclusively to make them angry and blame all their problems on "the left". When in fact its Republicans that have caused all their misery.

No doubt they think the Dems caused the Russian investigation. Not true. It was going on before Democrats or anyone else knew about it.

Trump is the cause of his woes. No one else. Trumpers totally believe him, but they must know deep down he's a skank. Maybe the Trumpers are skanks, too. Anything goes, as long as they get their pony.

Surprise...he's going to support raising taxes on the poor and taking away health care and giving huge sums of money to the very wealthy and corporations, and giving daycare to the upper middle class who don't need such assistance. They might even cut Social Security & Medicare.
