U.S. spies heard a Russian military intelligence officer bragging about his organization targeting Hillary Clinton in May 2016, according to a new report.
The officer told a colleague that GRU would cause havoc in Americas presidential election that year, Time said Thursday. The officer reportedly described GRUs effort as retribution for what Russian President Vladimir Putin considered Clintons influence campaign against him.
Putin purportedly believed that Clinton conducted the campaign in 2011 while serving as secretary of State. Senior intelligence officials told Time that U.S. spies transcribed the conversation and sent it to headquarters for analysis.
Time reported that the writeup was turned into an official report off the raw intelligence and then circulated.

Russia tried to gain access to Pentagon Twitter accounts: report
BY MORGAN CHALFANT - 05/18/17 11:24 AM EDT
Russia attempted to gain access to Twitter accounts of Defense Department officials using messages carrying malware, according to a report in Time.
Russia is said to have sent messages to over 10,000 Pentagon Twitter usersthe messages tailored to their interestsbaiting them to click on links to stories. Clicking on the link would enable Russian hackers to gain control of the targets mobile device or computer and, as a result, his or her Twitter account.
According to Time, the attempts by Russia were disclosed in a March report to U.S. counterintelligence officials investigating Russian interference efforts against the presidential election.
It is unclear whether any devices or Twitter accounts were compromised in the hacking efforts. The report indicates that the attempts were made after the 2016 election.

Sorry, I always figure that if I demand others tow the line and act like grown ups while I'm not and my friends aren't it's a bit hypocritical.
The MSM loved the revelations. All those juicy anonymous sources of information about a politician, with all kinds of partisan adversaries there to lap it up. The payoff being, of course, that the media would get higher ratings and adversaries would gain political advantage.
I don't have a clue what year it is I'm talking about there. Damning, but certainly not specific.
