(8,203 posts)What do you suppose....now, will not honor the subpoena, yet wants immunity for "his story" - contempt, maybe?
Yep - just look up contempt of congress...
Contempt of Congress is the act of obstructing the work of the United States Congress or one of its committees. Historically, the bribery of a senator or representative was considered contempt of Congress. In modern times, contempt of Congress has generally applied to the refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by a Congressional committee or subcommitteeusually seeking to compel either testimony or the production of requested documents....
Brazen ....

(13,037 posts)brazen in deed, but if that's really his stance to not honor the subpoena he knows he'll be locked up in contempt, and ultimately for treason.

(4,483 posts)Remember during Iran-Contra, Oliver North was convicted but because some congressional investigative committee had given him immunity in order to get him to testify? His conviction was overturned because he had been granted immunity in the same matter, although by a different body.
I'm worried that Flynn is going to refuse to honor subpoenas in the hope that one of the other two investigatory bodies will grant him immunity in order to get him to testify.

(13,037 posts)so i don't doubt they won't want it now, most likely because they have damning evidence against him. It's just blustery on his part probably because he's in denial at this point.

(4,483 posts)back when they said they wouldn't give him immunity 1) his ties to Trump were not so damaging (to Trump) and 2) his lawyer hadn't said he wouldn't honor subpoenas. I would not put it past Republicans to get in there quick and grant him immunity before he is called to testify before the special counsel.
