the Latin roots of this word: the prefix sub- means "under" and poena means "penalty." We shall see.

Why did Judith Miller go to jail?
Refusal to disclose source. In July 2005, several months prior to her October 2005 resignation from the New York Times, Miller was jailed for contempt of court for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating a leak naming Valerie Plame as a CIA officer.

What do you suppose....now, will not honor the subpoena, yet wants immunity for "his story" - contempt, maybe?

Yep - just look up contempt of congress...

Contempt of Congress is the act of obstructing the work of the United States Congress or one of its committees. Historically, the bribery of a senator or representative was considered contempt of Congress. In modern times, contempt of Congress has generally applied to the refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by a Congressional committee or subcommittee—usually seeking to compel either testimony or the production of requested documents....

Brazen ....

brazen in deed, but if that's really his stance to not honor the subpoena he knows he'll be locked up in contempt, and ultimately for treason.

Remember during Iran-Contra, Oliver North was convicted but because some congressional investigative committee had given him immunity in order to get him to testify? His conviction was overturned because he had been granted immunity in the same matter, although by a different body.

I'm worried that Flynn is going to refuse to honor subpoenas in the hope that one of the other two investigatory bodies will grant him immunity in order to get him to testify.

so i don't doubt they won't want it now, most likely because they have damning evidence against him. It's just blustery on his part probably because he's in denial at this point.

back when they said they wouldn't give him immunity 1) his ties to Trump were not so damaging (to Trump) and 2) his lawyer hadn't said he wouldn't honor subpoenas. I would not put it past Republicans to get in there quick and grant him immunity before he is called to testify before the special counsel.
