Report: Kushner urged aggressive Trump response to special counsel

President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner reportedly advocated an "attack" response style over a more measured reaction in a White House huddle on Wednesday, according to a new report.
The meeting followed the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel in charge of the Department of Justice investigation into Russian election meddling. It resulted in conflicting messages issued by the White House in response to the appointment.
After Trump learned that the Department of Justice named a special counsel to probe Russia's election meddling and possible collusion by the Trump campaign, the president called in staff members including Kushner, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Communications Director Michael Dubke, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon, The New York Times reported.
While most of the people encouraged the president to issue a statement accepting the decision of the deputy attorney general, Kushner didn't agree, two senior administration officials told the Times.

No hint provided as to what a possible counter-attack would be.

Kushner, being the twit that he is, is the last person who should be giving any president advice. Trump only listens to his clueless grifter family. It is all pathetic.

(9,426 posts)Maybe he gets a discount whenever Ivanka gets her Botox? Her face does not move, just her anus mouth, exposing more teeth than most people have.
There is no scientific explanation for the way he looks. There has to be an oozing portrait of him somewhere exuding each layer of evil he commits daily. There has to be.

(5,730 posts)big sell in China. I tried to give him a chance. He never had the experience, but I thought at least he would be a moderating force to the RWers on staff. I guess he was the apple that fell straight from his father's tree. He also lied about speaking to the Russians and getting out of his businesses.

(4,461 posts)... "Two senior administration officials told the Times"? If Trump is so hot to determine who is leaking damaging information from the WH, doesn't he have a pretty good set of suspects here?
"... Kushner, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Communications Director Michael Dubke, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Stephen Bannon ...".
Are heads gonna start rolling?
Or perhaps the bugging devices planted by the Russian media personnel last week are working, and Putin is the source?
Don't trust anyone, Donald. They're all out to get you. Twitter is your only friend. Tweet, Donald. Tweet!
