Ex-Justice Dept official pulls name from consideration to replace Comey: reports

Source: The Hill

A former Justice Department official has withdrawn her name from consideration to replace former FBI Director James Comey, according to multiple reports.

Former Assistant Attorney General Alice Fisher, who was appointed by former President George W. Bush, has removed herself from the White House’s shortlist, CNN and Fox News each reported Wednesday.

Trump has been holding interviews to replace Comey since he dropped the bombshell news last week that he had fired the bureau chief.

The president pledged Saturday that he would move quickly to name a new FBI director, suggesting he would name a new bureau chief before leaving for his first foreign trip this Friday.

I don't know if he is his lawyer specifically; but he would most likely quit the law firm if he was appointed FBI Director. Or not. Who knows! We've been through the looking glass for a while.

I thought someone who heads the FBI should have worked there. You know like the president should have had a government job first.

I would assume that Trump won't trust a woman with a different last name. If this means that the available men have already turned him down, good.

Trump fired Comey without a replacement lined up, is what this confirms, and it points even more strongly to a panicked president.
