Pence stands by claim he didn't know about Flynn lobbying investigation

Vice President Mike Pence is standing by his March claim that he learned about Michael Flynns Turkish lobbying work through the media, even as a new report indicates Flynn informed the transition team in January that he was under federal investigation for not properly disclosing the paid work.
Pence, who ran President Donald Trumps transition operation, had told Fox News on March 9 that hearing that story today was the first I heard of it. He repeated the claim about Flynns ties to Turkey later in the interview, and said the revelation affirmed Trumps decision to fire the national security adviser.
The Vice President stands by his comments in March upon first hearing the news regarding General Flynn's ties to Turkey and fully supports the President's decision to ask for General Flynn's resignation, Pences office said in a statement to POLITICO on Thursday.
Still, Pence once again finds himself in an uncomfortable position: he either delivered a false statement in March, or was kept in the dark about critical information relating to one of the presidents most senior aides.

Cummings told Pence, since Pence was head of transition, that Flynn was lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.

So Dems have proof that Trump et al knew about Flynn months before it was made public and more or less then forced Trump to fire him.

(23,093 posts)Flynn even has said he told them long that he was under investigation prior to going to the WH, so Pence is an idiot liar as well.
And a major league poopy head!
When I read your post I was also thinking of my 7 y/o charge so I heard it in his voice, lol. The poopy head naturally followed.

(30,733 posts)Hang it around his neck. If he becomes President, keep it out there, so that he is not President for long. I don't want him or Ryan, but they may not blow up the entire world, like Trump. We can deal with them when the time comes.

(7,581 posts)Trump is going to throw Pence under the bus, and try to save himself. I think Trump will say "Pence knew Flynn was compromised, not me!" And the WH atty will swear he told Pence, not Trump about sally Yates' warnings.
I dont think anyone around Trump should feel safe.

Oh wait, I forgot--if you lie to further Jebus' agenda--the one about giving tax cuts to billionaires and stealing Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security--then it's OK.

(9,670 posts)And the Senate is doing the counter-intelligence investigation...which means that the Senate needs to call Pence as a witness, under oath, and elicit testimony as to what he knew and when he knew it.
I remember a guy named William Clinton who was accused of perjury. Congress took umbrage, if I recall.
