(10,500 posts)but rather to lock them in at the low levels that they have already sunk to.
He was at 38 percent before word came out about leaking info to the Russians or that he tried to get the investigation of Michael Flynn dropped. I suppose it is possible that by Sunday his numbers could drop further. But I think the main impact will be to make it harder for his numbers to recover.

Down from 39.5 yesterday and 39.8 the day before.
It was sinking all day yesterday and hopefully will continue.

It is a sad commentary on our country that more than one third approve of him. Soon we will see a plateau in this graph and it will show us just how many deplorables are in this country. I look at these graphs every day and shake my head.

(6,928 posts)44% when half a dozen others polling have Trump at 39% approval on a good day.

(17,422 posts)while most pollsters' percentages don't add up to 100%, Rassmusens' do. Others seem to have 5 or 6% undecided. I haven't looked further to find methodologies (and I'm not planning to), but I suspect they discount undecideds or force an answer. In polls like this it makes a big difference in how you ask.

(5,810 posts)A lot. Classes in Methods of conducting surveys and polling teaches this early on. If someone wanted to try to help someone out with their poll, manipulating how the questions are asked would be a good place to start. Of course, in trump's case (or anyone else who acts like him), he will reach a place where no one can salvage his sinking numbers.

Trumps latest approval ratings range between 38 percent and 46 percent. Fifty percent or more of respondents in each of the polls disapprove of his performance.
The presidents lowest approval rating comes from the Gallup Daily Tracking survey. In interviews conducted Monday-Wednesday, 38 percent of Americans approved of Trumps job performance, while 57 percent disapproved.
Gallup has generally been more negative for Trump than other public polls. His approval rating dipped as low as 35 percent in the tracking survey earlier this week down from 41 percent immediately before the health care bill died.

(60,536 posts)an average of all polls, meaning; half of the polls had him higher, the other half, less. I think you'll find your poll info is averaged into RCP's average
The RealClearPolitics polling average shows President Trumps approval rate at 39.7%.
But I also remember big announcements of a new low in March which was lower than 39.7% and people saying that was not low enough.

(629 posts)A local news station did a poll this week that showed among Texans Trump's popularity has actually gone up to a staggering 80%. Soon enough Putin will be able to build a winter house here and we'll all be shooting shots of vodka to comrade Trump!

(23,335 posts)I do not find it likely that the general population of adults or voters in a station's geography would have such high approval.
