CBS2 Sources: Huma Abedin Attorneys Filing Her Divorce Papers After Anthony Weiner Guilty Plea

Source: CBS

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Sources tell CBS2 Huma Abedin‘s attorneys are filing her divorce papers Friday afternoon in Lower Manhattan after her estranged husband, disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, pleaded guilty to charges in a sexting investigation.

Weiner admitted in court that he transferred obscene material to a minor. It’s a federal offense that will force him to register as a sex offender, CBS2’s Marcia Kramer reported.

A monumental fall from grace. Only out done by Mr. Hernandez. Two people who had achieved great success only to toss it into the garbage heap of history.

No need for the protection of marriage to avoid testifying.

I think that protection only applies to compelled testimony (but I am not a lawyer, not even on the internet).

I don't know that I see the point of her doing that, not that he wouldn't have deserved it.

But I am not nice or forgiving. I am not sure the kid benefits with such a piece of shit as a dad in any case.

is a good thing when the parents are divorced. It's a sad mess. I really don't like when people who have such gifts squander them. Eliot Spitzer and Kwame Kilkpatrick come to mind as other examples.

That said, I don't get the appeal of sexting, and I'm not familiar with what, if any, addictive behavior can be associated with it.

invoking spousal privilege kind of like how the government in general cannot get an attorney to testify against you if it will break attorney client privilege.
"The spousal communications privilege may not be invoked if the spouses are suing each other or each other's estates in a civil case; if one of the spouses has initiated a criminal proceeding against the other; or in a competency proceeding regarding one of the spouses."
Those are some of the exceptions but there arent many of them.
