First on CNN: Comey now believes Trump was trying to influence him, source says

Source: CNN

Former FBI Director James Comey now believes that President Donald Trump was trying to influence his judgment about the Russia probe, a person familiar with his thinking says, but whether that influence amounts to obstruction of justice remains an open question.

"You have to have intent in order to obstruct justice in the criminal sense," the source said, adding that "intent is hard to prove."

Comey will testify publicly before the Senate intelligence committee after Memorial Day, the panel's leaders announced Friday.

The central question at that blockbuster hearing will be whether Comey believed the President was trying to interfere with his investigation.

Maybe if Trump had been wearing a pant suit it might have been clearer!

I don't trust Comey any farther than Hillary could pick him up and throw him.

for deciding it was a good idea to interfere in an election but that doesn't absolve Trump from asking for Comey to throw the Flynn investigation under the bus.

notes and conversations that will show Comey's state of mind. Ben Wittes talked on PBS Newshour about how Comey didn't want to attend the law enforcement ceremony at the WH w/Trump and was disgusted by Trump calling him out to shake hands. Wittes also said Comey felt his "day job" was to protect the FBI from WH influence. And that's just one example.

It appears Don's handlers were aware of non Trump voters disgust with Mr. Comey. One hell of a visual they gave America with that stunt.

Time will tell all - but at this time I believe it was done to discredit him in the eyes of those who need him the most.

In fact, he admitted it twice--once on national TV, and once when chatting up his Russian handlers.

And that doesn't even include his request, expressed twice, to Comey himself to just drop the Flynn investigation.
