Carl Lewis lambasts Mitt Romney remarks (“Every Olympics is ready, I don’t care whatever he said")

Among those adding to the criticism of Mitt Romney’s day in London: former U.S. track and field star Carl Lewis.

He took on Romney for his remarks that perhaps London had fallen down on some preparations for the Olympics.

“Every Olympics is ready, I don’t care whatever he (Romney) said,” Lewis told the Independent. “I swear, sometimes I think some Americans shouldn’t leave the country. Are you kidding me, stay home if you don’t know what to say.”

Lewis said athletes should enjoy Friday’s opening ceremony. “Forget about the games and just enjoy the ceremony. Tomorrow is when it all starts. Today they should enjoy it, meet people from other countries. Then tomorrow act like it’s a normal competition.”
