Senate Intelligence Committee requests Trump campaign documents
Source: Washington Post
The Senate Intelligence Committee, which is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential race, has asked President Trumps political organization to gather and produce all documents, emails and phone records going back to his campaigns launch in June 2015, according to two people briefed on the request.
The letter from the Senate arrived at Trumps campaign committee last week and was addressed to the groups treasurer. Since then, some former staffers have been notified and asked to cooperate, the people said. They were not authorized to speak publicly.
Dozens of former staffers are expected to be contacted in the coming days to make sure they are aware of the request, the people added.
The letter was signed by Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the Senate committees chairman, and Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.), the committees ranking Democrat. Warners spokesperson declined to comment.

(12,448 posts)The usual chain of events with the Dump administration is: 1) Request documents/info etc. 2) Refuse or ignore. 3) Subpoena. 4) ??
Nixon went down in part because he and his staff stonewalled at every turn. It was the coverup, not the original crime, that led to his disgrace.

(5,191 posts)Probably nothing. The Republicans have to be made to own their support of these treasonous criminals.
The question should no longer be, "Did you see what Trump did?" It should be, "Did you see what the Republicans are allowing Trump to get away with now?"
