Trump Pushing Big White House Changes as Russia Crisis Grows
Source: WSJ
WASHINGTON Donald Trump is actively discussing major changes in the White House, including having lawyers vet his tweets and shaking up his top staff, as he grapples with the fallout from probes into his campaigns dealings with Russia, according to several senior administration officials and outside advisers.
Other revisions on the table include adding a roster of outside lawyers to help deal with the legal ramifications of the Russia investigation, officials and allies said. Everything is in play, one Trump adviser said.
Meetings devoted to White House operations are scheduled for next week, after Trump returns from his overseas trip, officials said. The anticipated moves are the latest sign of how the probe into Russias interference in last years election, and the circumstances of the presidents firing of FBI Director James Comey, is defining the new administration.

Trump has previously queried advisers about major changes, only to stick by his current staff and leave in place internal processes. But as he prepares to return from the nine-day foreign trip this weekend, the situation at home is threatening to consume his administration, his allies said. Before he left, the Justice Department appointed former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Robert Mueller as a special counsel to oversee the probe, which is focused on whether there was any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the election and may also include looking into the firing of Mr. Comey earlier this month.

(19,159 posts)is going to babysit the Prevaricator in Chief when he's tweeting at 3:00 AM? And does anyone REALLY believe Trump is going to allow ANYONE - attorney, or not - to censor the Dictator for Life's tweets? I see Trump slipping into an Idi Amin psychosis here, eating the flesh of his vanquished enemies, while watching FOX "News" on 15 TV sets that are hanging from the ceiling by the entrails of his opponents. Trump is losing it, and quickly. The brief respite he got for his recent "victory tour" is over. There's a blinding shit-storm waiting for him in Washington. He thought it was bad BEFORE he left? The cheeto-bandido is going to slip over the edge very quickly. Our national nightmare might be over sooner than anyone thinks. Trump doesn't like explaining himself, but unfortunately no one in the White House can translate fuck-wit to English, so we're all screwed there. I can visualize Trump just getting up, walking out of the Oval Office, and quitting without any notice whatsoever. "He misses his old life". Well we all miss OUR old lives as well. The lives that existed before an orange doorknob became president under very sinister circumstances. The pressure is mounting on his assholiness, and he's about to crack.

(47,425 posts)Mr. Trumps return to Washington will mark the end of a period which, White House staffers said, brought some relief from the hectic pace of the news surrounding the administration and the Russia investigation. Some noted that it gave them a rare time to eat dinner at home.

Remember the panic over President Obama having a blackberry and the insistence he give it up because it wasn't secure?
We have the poster boy for 'loose lips sink ships' and everyone is quaking in fear of his tantrums.

(37,648 posts)Millions of dollars going to investigate and defend this bunch of crooks, not to mention all the attention paid to the corruption matters and financial irregularities and profiteering from the White House, instead of governing.
I expected it to be bad, but I don't think anyone had any idea how bad it would get.
I hope the govt doesn't have to pay their lawyer fees. This isn't gonna be cheap.

Any roster of lawyers he hires should be paid for by his own money.
