Democratic senators offer gun control amendment for cybersecurity bill

Source: The Hill

Democratic senators have offered an amendment to the cybersecurity bill that would limit the purchase of high capacity gun magazines for some consumers.

Shortly after the Cybersecurity Act gained Senate approval to proceed to filing proposed amendments and a vote next week, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), a sponsor of the gun control amendment, came to the floor to defend the idea of implementing some “reasonable” gun control measures.

transfer to or possession by a law enforcement officer employed by such an entity for purposes of law enforcement (whether on or off duty);

‘‘(C) the possession, by an individual who is retired from service with a law enforcement agency and is not otherwise prohibited from receiving ammunition, of a large capacity ammunition feeding device transferred to the individual by the agency upon that retirement

O'rly?!

The trusted protectors of the people are allowed to posses these 'murderous devices of mass destruction'... even retired anointed ones, but the common man isn't?

FUCK THAT SHIT

Lets see the gum-flappin, gun-grabbing, blow hards put their money where their mouth is and propose an across the board ban.

But... they'll never do something that would upset or anger their blue legions because its always sound political policy to say to the public, "this common sense, much needed legislation has the support of our brave men and women in uniform... blah...blah.. blah... etc... etc...etc...".

It also looks impressive to have a few 5 star, badge wearing, dick wads with a stick up their asses
standing on the podium nodding in solemn agreement when you try to sell the public this steaming pile of shit.

Across the board bans or no bans at all.

Especially if they're exempting retired cops. What the fuck? Trying to create special classes of people much?

Ridering additional, unrelated causes onto every other bill's enough of a problem as is.

Reid knows better than to embarrass rural Democrats in an election year.

This bill is going nowhere fast, despite the usual (urban) suspects advocating for it.

I know so many people who were softening because they were feeling confident that this sort of thing was not going to happen after all and then this.
