Poll shows Americans find Comey more trustworthy than Trump

Americans find former FBI Director James Comey to be more trustworthy than President Trump, according to a new Huffington Post/YouGov poll.

The poll shows that 46 percent of Americans polled say Comey is more honest and trustworthy than the president. The poll said 26 percent found Trump more trustworthy than Comey.

The survey comes just days after Comey testified before the Senate on Thursday, claiming Trump put him in a compromising position asking him to let go of the investigation into ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump denied Comey’s claim Friday, going as far to say he would testify under oath to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who was tapped to lead the investigation into Russian election meddling.

Sure, it's a Huffington Post poll, but you'd have be a moron or pretty deplorable not to conclude Comey is more honest than Trump.

9. They say that now, but the smear campaign of Comey is just beginning.

And Comey has largely lost his mouthpiece, since I doubt the Repubs will call him before the committee any more. All Trump has to do is type 140 characters on his phone and the media is talking about it for days.

And since Mueller and Comey are known to be friends, disparaging statements about Comey can be viewed as creating a conflict for Mueller.

How the fuck did our country get into this situation?

10. Calista241, part of the reason we are in this situation is the constant propaganda machines

spewing out falsehoods day after day. A sizeable portion of the population has been groomed to trust only their favorite news outlet, namely Fox. Add in Right Wing radio blaring at work, in their cars, even when you're on hold on the telephone and you get a small army of people schooled in hearing only the right wing spokespeople. Critical thought is discouraged. Just swallow whole what is being served up.

Then give them plenty of reasons to be afraid, very afraid. Take your pick, the primary criteria is anyone or anything different than you. Oh, and if you're afraid, of course you have to protect yourself and your family. So if you don't own a gun or two or twelve, what's wrong with you??

Then you put forth a savior who is going to make things right again, restore things to the way it used to be. He tells it "like it is." He thinks like they do. He might be a little crude but every family has someone like him, right? Besides, when he is in the Oval Office, he will know how to act, right?? And he sure knows how to make great deals, so why not have a guy like that making deals for the United States? Maybe some of his greatness will rub off on me!!

They were ripe for the picking. And the propaganda machine keeps on telling them that they are right and it is everyone else who is out of step. So naturally, even with overwhelming evidence that tRump is an unapologetic liar, caught in lies for decades, they just put their fingers in their ears and yell, La, la, la, la...I can't hear you. They repeat their talking points like good recruits. And until trump's policies or destructive actions affect them personally, it's all good to them. And they will continue to support the liar, madman in the White House. Sad but true. I know several people like this and I'm pretty sure there are millions more out there which explains why trump's base seems to be holding firmly in place.
