GOP Rep. Blasts Russia Probe: 'Why Are We Going Through With This Charade?'

Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), a longtime Trump supporter, on Monday night criticized the special counsels Russia probe and questioned why the investigation is still underway now that former FBI Director James Comey has said that President Donald Trump himself was not under investigation while Comey was at the FBI.
During an appearance on Fox News, Duffy claimed that Comey and special counsel Robert Mueller are best friends and complained that Mueller has hired people to work on the investigation who have donated to Democrats.
This seems more like an effort to prosecute Donald Trump than it is to investigate, he said. What the hell are we investigating? Duffy then asked. Why are we going through with this charade?
Duffy noted Comeys testimony that he told Trump earlier this year that he was not under investigation at the time. He also claimed that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said he had not seen evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia, peddling a favorite conservative talking point. However, Clapper has made it clear that he is not privy to the FBI probe.

And Fox News and the other wingnut media will do their jobs and mirror the message. All they need is enough 'muricans to follow along with this thinking. They don't need every citizen, just the Republican base and enough Independents.

(23,432 posts)People like Sean Duffy, and other traitors. Do they understand, or not, that if elected officials ignore the guidelines of the Constitution, the USA will cease to exist?
The Constitution offers protection to all citizens, all religions, all races. Americans live under this protection, and have the freedom to do what we want, as long as we obey laws that are passed which support the guidelines in the Constitution. If the current TRAITORS are allowed to scoff at the U.S.Constitution, we are all going to lose our personal freedom. The brownshirts can attack who they want, when they want, even other brownshirts.
In addition, if the Constitution fails, then America will fail. Like it or not, humans are moving toward a world government-trade, economics, perception of good guys-bad guys. I might be wrong, but I've seen the One World goal looming larger and more real each year. It makes sense in some ways, such as costs. But in my thoughts about a world government, whether I am right or wrong about it, always had the United States as the ultimate leader, with all other countries acquiescing to our last word, and assuming that of all countries, the US would be most benign and inclusive in setting our course.
But if the TRAITORS win, and we lose the Constitution, some other country will take that lead. And I doubt it'll be Great Britain, France, Canada or Australia. The way things are going, Russia, with its oppressive style of government will ascend and the world will be a very different place.
