The deep cuts the Trump administration wants to make to the United Nations peacekeeping budget go too far even for Republicans, a number of whom expressed opposition to UN Ambassador Nikki Haley during an appropriations subcommittee hearing on Wednesday.
Some of these cuts are massive and just devastating, Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) told Haley, according to Bloomberg. Our leadership is irreplaceable.
Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY) described the cuts as severe and criticized the administration for not providing more details about its proposal, which would cut the USs share of the UN peacekeeping budget to about 25 percent of total costs from 28.5 percent currently, and reduce the UNs peacekeeping budget by 37 percent overall.

I guess she hasn't figured out right along with the idiot with the orange hair, that its " UN Forces at the DMZ in South Korea", like Britain, Italy, Germany, Canada, Australia, United States and such, for starters are at that zone, and those other countries are saying ------------really, are you that stupid Nikki Haley, we think so

(16,066 posts)By reducing funding to UN Peacekeeping operations, the administration opens up the flood gates for conflict! Conflict leads to increased sales for the military industrial complex, here in the US as well as Russia and China!
Peace doesn't help the weapons profiteers, but wars all over the planet does...

(1,832 posts)... like those UN Forces at the DMZ in South Korea are. USA's contribution to the United Nations peacekeeping operations are 73 persons out of a total of 96,865 peacekeepers.
