The conservative website The Daily Caller will be giving away an FMK 9C1 high-capacity 9mm pistol to whoever can track down the hacker that trolled the site with porn ads on Monday. The gun which comes specially engraved with the Bill of Rights will be presented to any reader who can turn over the hackers name, allowing The DC to hold them responsible. Less tech-savvy readers can also win a gun by providing the funniest and most inventive ideas on what Tucker Carlsons right-wing website should do with the hacker when we find him.

Remember when Norm Coleman's Web site got investigated because they didn't even take the simplest of security measures -- putting an index file in their root-level folders?

...be subject to a background check, just as if the recipient goes into a sporting goods store to buy a gun.
The winner must also not be disqualified from owning a firearm - i.e. must not a be convicted felon or domestic abuser, or have been discharged dishonorably from the military, or be in the country illegally, or have renounced US citizenship, or been adjudicated as mentally incompetent.

(60,567 posts)But I suspect that the site somewhere says the transfer will be done in accordance with all applicable laws, just to avoid dealing with uninformed people who get unrealistic expectations.
BTW the offer is posted on Google Docs, so you can be very sure it's been scrutinized by lawyers.
