Trump: 'You can thank Congress' for US-Russia relationship's all-time low

President Trump on Thursday blamed Congress for the current "very dangerous" relationship with Russia.

"Our relationship with Russia is at an all-time & very dangerous low," Trump tweeted.

"You can thank Congress, the same people that can't even give us HCare!"

The comments come on day after Trump signed legislation that imposes new sanctions on Russia.

The bill —which was overwhelmingly approved by Congress — limits the president's ability to lift sanctions on Russia or return diplomatic compounds seized by the Obama administration in retaliation for Russian election meddling.

Trump on Wednesday similarly lashed out at Congress while signing the legislation, arguing the bill limited his executive power and ability to negotiate with Moscow.
