DONALD TRUMP IS BEING WARNED BY ADVISERS ABOUT IMPEACHMENT

Source: Newsweek

Donald Trump's presidency already has been one of the most controversial in U.S. history, and its ending could be just as action-packed and unpredictable as his first seven months in office.

As the 45th president deals with his stalled agenda, his sinking approval ratings and the investigations into his presidential campaign's ties to Russia, White House advisers have reportedly been warning Trump about his potential political doom: the exhaustive impeachment process that could result in his removal from the Oval Office. And he isn’t doing himself many favors.

He wanted to spite Obama for the Correspondents' Club Dinner; he wanted to get rid of all sorts of rules and regulations because he doesn't like them and wants to cut corners; he wanted to get the Russians off his back by paying Putin with political favors; and most of all, he wanted the spotlight. Governing? B0-RING.

I think the light turnout and early departure of the crowd that did show up in Phoenix has shaken him to his malignant narcissist soul, er, open sore. That's the only reason he's not firing anybody who's trying to tell him to shape up.

Just give him a few days, though, he'll be back on his phone in the wee hours.

44. They are not going to impeach him
Tue Aug 29, 2017, 08:21 AM
Aug 2017

they fear one thing more than anything else - their rabid base.

There is a reason 45 is poking the shit holes, it pits the "base" against them, he does that to highlight the repercussions if they were to act against him.

The greatest fear Rs have now are primaries - they can game the general election with gerrymandering, voter suppression, use of propoganda in general elections, but not in primaries because these things all target Ds and independents.

In primaries it is all about the sainted "base" and any move by any one of these scumbags to impeach 45 will very likely get them outsed in a primary.

You have never heard of our congressman, he is a typical asshole R and our district is hopelessly R. He will be our congressmen until he decides not be our congressman. BUT, if he were to vote to impeach 45 he would get pummeled in the primary.

Why on earth would Ryan or McConnell (who in their bones hate the evil liberal and that is all they know, anyways) try to make a move on 45 when they would have no one within their own party to back that play?

I've said it multiple times the base is with Trump. Trump is way more popular with the base than the Republican party is as crazy as that sounds.

With that said, I think we might get some movement in early 2019 after the midterms once they are safe under the hope that Republican voters will forgot or make peace with it come 2020.

get both chambers.

The House is NEVER going to bring up articles under R control. Just not going to. McConnell probably will have no choice but to have the actual hearings if he were to get the articles sent his way, but that rat fucker, just can't rule out him finding a way to subvert it.

Side note - very accurate point that 45 is more popular with the base than actual party.

They don't care as long as it keeps them in power, but it literally is frankenstein's monster.

Culturally, certainly. 1930's Germany wasn't remotely democratic -- that system had been forced on them, and many resented it. Most people were virulently anti-Semitic, fairy-tale style. The Freikorp roamed the streets like a gang, hardened WWI trench rats who murdered counter-protesters at will.

Ain't nobody gonna foller this feller down. Not here. Not now.

He might try. But I think his control of the civil service and military is an illusion. People know. Well, 60% know.

Trump did ...

I get the differentiations you are making, but you disregard the incredibly tenuous state of our democracy right now.

Yes, Hitler bullied his way in.

I am not as confident it does not start to get bloody here, but we did something Germany did not do, we actually ELECTED 45, and our party in power is an absolute state of disassociation from reality, decency and democracy. And, 1/3 of our fellow citizens are full on board with that, and another 1/3 is wlling to sit back and let them have at it (see the fall election, where 1/3 voted 45, 1/3 voted the competent, capable and decent candidate and 1/3 voted for idiots or did not vote at all).

We are on VERY thin ice, and a lot closer to it breaking bad than turning around.
