Trump Offers Flag-Waving Optimism in Visit to Harvey's Path

"We are going to get you back and operating immediately," Trump told an impromptu crowd
that gathered outside a Corpus Christi fire station about 30 miles from where the storm made
landfall Friday.

"What a crowd, what a turnout," Trump declared before waving a Texas flag from atop a step ladder
positioned between two fire trucks. "This is historic. It's epic what happened, but you know what, it
happened in Texas, and Texas can handle anything."

Trump spoke optimistically about the pace of the recovery, and predicted his response would be a textbook case for future presidents.

"We want to do it better than ever before," he said. "We want to be looked at in five years, in 10 years from now as, 'This is the way to do it.'"

The man is certifiable. 1/2 a million cars are DOA because of the flooding, God only knows
how many homes will have to be torn down because of black mold and structural
problems, and I doubt many businesses will be ready to open their doors and get back
to work.

<What little damage Trump saw — boarded-up windows, downed tree limbs and fences askew —
was through the tinted windows of his SUV as his motorcade ferried him from the Corpus Christi
airport to the firehouse in a city that's already nearly back to normal.>

Everything I have read and seen about the damage caused by Harvey is that it is much
bigger then hurricane Katrina's damage and they are still cleaning up New Orleans today
and yet that madman is spouting as you say "bullshit" about being back up immediately.

"It's epic!" He almost makes it sound like a good thing. For all the times he has used superlatives like "disaster", he couldn't find one about Harvey.

"We are going to get you back and operating immediately" - that jumped right out at me. Even his base knows that is impossible.

"What a crowd!" What a tone deaf fool.

2 to 3" of flood water in your house can all but ruin your home. Black mold can
make a house all but unlivable. Trump is batshit crazy.

If Trump had been president, things would have been back to normal "immediately". He puts on his magic hat and waves his tiny fingers and presto - its "so easy".

and he has his head so far up his ass he has never understood the dire straights working people are in. When his voters don't get a brand new house in a month how much will they believe in him in November?
