Source: Washington Post
OAK CREEK, Wis. Police in Wisconsin say the FBI will handle the investigation of shootings at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee.
Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards says the case is being treated as a domestic terrorism case and the FBI is better equipped to handle that.

MSNBC is also reporting that the dead gunman was wearing tactical gear.
If this villain got his marching orders from Mark Levine, Michael Savage, or Limbaugh, the ONLY appropriate response would be to tear down those thugs' broadcasting towers.
Our government will NOT do it.
Enough is enough.

But clinic bombings are not?
Police raids that result in innocent people getting killed are not?
Seriously, these fucks need to actually define what they mean by 'terrorism'.

(32,723 posts)The Aurora shooting -- More of a "thrill kill" since there didn't seem to be a political objective.
The Wisconsin shootings are an act of terrorism because the message is "get out or else".

That party needs a Buckley-type again BIG-TIME (I know he could be an asshole, but at least he kept the crazier among them in check with the weapons of Public Ridicule and Scholarship.)
Even if this guy kept a diary of all the reasons he thought that Rush and Beck and all the others WANTED him to take this action, they will just say
"Well, WE'RE not responsible for the actions of a crazy person, we NEVER wanted anyone to go out and kill people. And if he THOUGHT that's what we wanted, well, that means he's CRAZY, because we never said anything of the sort (and if we did, non-crazy people know that we're just kidding around when we say stuff like that, it's for entertainment purposes.)
Can a person be charged with violation of the RICO statutes as a mechanism of CIVIL litigation or a Class Action lawsuit?

Therefore each member of that organization is guilty of a crime by even one member of that organization.

(602 posts)From the New York Times:
The Sikh community around the country has seen an increase in bias attacks since Sept. 11, 2001, with its members often confused for Muslims. In fact, the Sikh religion does not have its roots in the Middle East but in Punjab, India. Many faithful often let their beards grow long and, in keeping with their faith, wear turbans.

In the last year alone, Mr. Crowley said in the letter, two Sikh men in Sacramento were murdered, a Sikh temple in Michigan was vandalized and a Sikh man was beaten in New York.
My thoughts: We all know who is behind not just this mass shooting, but the other attacks on Sikhs based on the mistaken assumption by their idiot attackers that they are Muslim. The crazies are getting crazier all the time, they're being encited and pumped up by numerous statements and direct political ads generated by the political party that shall not be named. And they have total access to complete arsenals, compliments of the NRA and same-mentioned political party. It is only going to get worse.

(19,458 posts)Have you noticed that in some of the media and comments out there? These wingnuts think that Sikhs are Muslims, to they attack them. But I rarely see what SHOULD follow those statements in the media.. that's there are millions and millions of peaceful people who follow the Muslim faith, and do not deserve to be targeted either.
Jessy169
(602 posts)From my point of view, the entire "political party that shall not be named" is complicit or in fact a full partner in perpetrating racist-based attacks on Sikhs, Muslims, Jews and other ethnic groups. They wink, they smile, they say "hey, that's not what I meant", or "I was just kidding", but the message is clear.

(19,458 posts)they are SO obsessed with the Muslim thing. It comes into every convo we have.. she cannot resist saying that the President is a "secret Muslim." Of course he's not. But truly what if he was? Why would anyone have to keep their religion a secret? We have Muslim people in all areas of our community, in all kinds of jobs, etc. Did people think that Kareem Abdul Jabar was a terrorist? Of course not. I think the bigger conversation that needs to happen in the media, is why it seems understandable that people would attack others because they're Muslim.

(18,124 posts)our culture of violence is getting uglier and uglier. with our history of vicious slavery, wild west native american eradication programs, lynchings, burnings, kkk terrorism, enforced racial segregation that engendered a very mean spirited culture that never quite went away, a gun culture second to none on this planet and people unhinged by the right wing twits mentioned above, I see things getting worse with the disenfranchised right wing individuals of america. Obama being elected at least has shown what the vicious, racist underbelly of america looks like. Sikh's are good people. I have personally met some. They are some vicious, brave warriors in their own right though, so I don't think it bodes well trying to intimidate them. The 'melting pot', yeah right

Your support of the 1st Amendment is touching. Suppose be believed that his marching orders came from something said on MSNBC - you still for kicking them off the air? For the record, I'm for leaving the Constitution alone and concentrating instead on identifying those intent on violence.

Your OP makes me wonder because the ft. hood shooting was a military matter. Has anyone heard Rachel Maddow call for people to be killed? Cenk? Alan Colmes?
The problem that, despite the fact I agree with you, is that many are calling for VIOLENCE against liberals. Not argument, killing.

(19,458 posts)Just curious what the standard is for mass killings now. Will the hospitals waive the fees for the injured? Will famous people go to the Sikh community there? Will we be getting the stories of the heros involved, and the life stories of those that were lost today?
The Sikh community there deserves every bit as much public outpouring of sympathy and love, as any community that has suffered through a mass tragedy like this. Curious to see how people respond, because they are different and not the Nancy Grace, made-for-Tv victims that the media capitalizes on.. and that is really sad.

We have a culture of hate speech in this country from Radio personality to TV personality TO ACTUAL MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REP--MIchelle Bachmann that needs to be addressed.
