Public dumps on Trump plan to reconsider automobile fuel economy standards

Asthma. Bronchitis. Emphysema. Lung cancer. War.
Those specters and more were raised Wednesday at a public hearing in Washington by opponents of a Trump administration plan to consider cutbacks in pollution and fuel economy standards for automobiles and light trucks.
Dozens of people including environmentalists, academics and a former general in the U.S. Marines blasted that plan, citing global warming, jobs, and consumer savings among the reasons.

another great idea from the kochs, who are really running the country. As soon as dump was "elected", swarms of Heriturd Fuckdation personnel were in from ground zero on planning the new administration. Their fingerprints are all over new Federal policy, just as their carefully vetted selections were installed in the Cabinet and other key positions.
This latest piece of insanity is right out of their playbook. Get rid of sensible regulations so the mentally ill petrochemical billionaires can hoard more money.

(51,585 posts)Climate Change 45 will still erase all safety, health, financial and environmental regulations in order to allow the rich to get richer.
I am glad that I live in CA and we have a governor who has been pro environment for 35 years. We pay a lot more at the gas pumps and insurance than the rest of the country.
