President Trump on Thursday announced his seventh wave of judicial nominees as he works to fill more than 100 vacancies on courts across the U.S.
Among the batch of 16 nominees, Trumps selected his own deputy assistant and deputy counsel, Gregory Katsas, to serve as a circuit judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the nations second-most-powerful court.
Conservative groups were quick to hail Katsas's nomination for the lifetime appointment.
In addition to being an exceptionally well-qualified nominee to the D.C. Circuit Court, Greg Katsas is one of the kindest and most humble people I know, said Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director at Judicial Crisis Network, the group that lobbied for the confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
