Trump: Tax reform 'needed now more than ever'

Source: The Hill

BY MAX GREENWOOD - 09/08/17 09:17 AM EDT

President Trump on Friday pressed Republican lawmakers to act swiftly on legislation to overhaul the country's tax code, urging them not to wait until the end of the month.

"Republicans must start the Tax Reform/Tax Cut legislation ASAP. Don't wait until the end of September. Needed now more than ever. Hurry!" Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump's entreatment to lawmakers came a day after the Senate passed a stopgap measure to fund the government past the end of the September and raise the nation's debt limit.

While Trump has long promised tax reform, he has begun to push the matter more aggressively in recent weeks, holding events in Missouri and North Dakota to pitch his overhaul proposal.

Do you think anyone one of those billionaires would hesitate screwing the rest of us out of thousands each just for another nickel? I don't.

Besides I was being facetious.

His resignation is needed now more than ever. I hope Mueller is getting close to something big.

... cause a recession, mass unemployment, and wage freezes?

The Saint Ronnie tax cuts don't really count because he secretly balanced those cuts by raising payroll taxes on the poorest Americans.

But I am interested to know if history shows a single tax cut for the rich ever working as advertised.
