LUMBERTON, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a helicopter crash near a small New Jersey airport has left country singer Troy Montgomery and the pilot dead ahead of a concert there by country band Montgomery Gentry.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the helicopter crashed into a wooded area Friday afternoon near the Flying W Airport in Medford.
The airport also houses a resort and was scheduled to host a concert by country stars Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry on Friday night. Shortly after 2 p.m. Eastern time, Flying W Airport announced the cancellation of the gig.

(512 posts)When I think of him, I remember when he was found guilty of killing a bear that was tame in an electric fenced 1 acre enclosure. He even took a video of it. It was such a horrible and cruel thing to do. Someone like that has no empathy for animals and shows a total lack of compassion. These "hunters" that kill animals that have no chance of running away or fighting back because they are in a fenced in area or have been tamed are bloodthirsty people that are trying to boost their fragile little egos and bravado. I have no problem with legal hunting where the hunter is not just after a trophy. It reminds me of the lowlife Trump boys. Killing for the sake of killing is barbaric.

(36,827 posts)I have no issues with people legally hunting animals for meat, but bears are very solitary creatures that almost always have to be baited extensively in order to be hunted successfully and in virtually all cases it's purely for trophies.
In almost all cases of legal hunting you have a guide which stocks bait stations for weeks or months in advance of the season, then they take clients to those areas where it's about as sporting as shooting fish in a barrel. The person then has the bear stuffed for display in their home to identify themselves as a big bad bear hunter.

I will have to stay away when Lorretta Lynn goes. She signed onto to Conman's white nationalist campaign, so fuck her.
Peggy Lee was doing more than Lynn a decade before and was socially with it.

If we start to think of others as less than deserving of human respect, we're not really much better.

If I want to read celebratory posts about the death of an law abiding Americans, I should have to go to Freeperville. Those MF's are actually praying for McCain'a death.
Sadly we see it here too often.

(512 posts)I would never do that. That is a far cry from saying that I'm not sad. I am sorry for his family. Other than that, I am ambivalent.
