Senate report blasts Trump's foreign policy

Source: MSN/CBS News

The Senate Appropriations Committee tore into the Trump administration's approach to foreign policy in a new report, criticizing the White House's proposed State Department budget as reflective of an "apparent doctrine of retreat" abroad.

The unusually harsh language appeared in the report attached to spending legislation for the State Department and foreign operations that totals $51 billion, roughly $11 billion more in funding than the administration had requested. The Trump administration had proposed a budget that slashed State Department spending for fiscal year 2018 by about 30 percent from the previous year.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, chairman of the State and Foreign Operations subcommittee, submitted the report. The spending bill was approved by the full Appropriations Committee 31-0 earlier this week. Graham's report suggested the administration's budget request flies in the face of the president's stated goals of American greatness.

"On May 23, 2017, President Donald Trump submitted to the Congress the fiscal year 2018 budget of the United States government entitled, 'A New Foundation for American Greatness,' and asserted in 'The Budget Message of the President' that 'n these dangerous times, our increased attention to public safety and national security sends a clear message to the world -- a message of American strength and resolve,'" the report said. "This message is not reflected in the International Affairs budget request of $40,521,826,000, a 30 percent cut below the fiscal year 2017 enacted level."

I am somewhat surprised. I thought Republicans would support Trump's strategy of focusing on bigger guns and tax cuts. Who needs diplomacy. Just threaten to bomb the shit out of countries, blow up trade agreements, and call it a day.

I want other world leaders to complement me on my historic electoral college victory (Millard Fillmore did better, but as we all know, Ole MF was one of the greats) and talk about the size of my inaugural crowd
And talk about tRump, tRump, tRump, while I push PMs out of my way

have learned how to deal with him successfully...lots and lots of praise and flattery. His ego is larger than the total of the two hurricanes. He is "the best" at being sick and crazy!

criticize him and treat him like a child by putting the vegetables on his plate, against his protests.

Republicans ARE very concerned about being strong to the world, military, international relations, etc. But I thought they were more concerned about tax cuts for the rich.

Or any of his other policies, for that matter, since he doesn't actually HAVE any policies!

Here's Trump's so-called foreign policy: Some foreign leader Trump doesn't like - an incredibly long list, containing all the known foreign leaders in the entire world - does something Trump doesn't like. Trump goes on television and tells the world, "If that Evil Foreign Leader doesn't quit doing this thing I don't like, I'm gonna fuck him up." Three days later the Evil Foreign Leader does it again and Trump goes back on television. "Evil Foreign Leader," Trump says, "if you don't knock that shit off I'm really going to fuck you up!" A week later EFL does it again...yup..."Ooh boy, you're gonna get it now! I'm just so mad I'm weighing all my options. I tell you, we're going to just fuck your shit up if you don't stop doing that!" He never actually gets around to fucking them up - because the only time he tried it, he blew it so badly the Army probably told him, "next time, you're coming with us" - but oh man, he's going to just fuck someone's shit up, I'm here to tell ya!

The rest of the world just looks at Trump's blather and goes, "yeah, right. Like we're going to get any help out of that worthless bastard!"
